Try Dive
Take your first breaths underwater under a qualified RAID instructor — no prior certification required.
RAID Try Dive is open from 8 years old (with adult consent under 18). Some centres offer Try Dive birthday parties from age 8. Kids pathway continues into Open Water when skills and comfort allow.
Two ways to try SCUBA with J-Bay SCUBA: a pool-only session, or pool plus one guided ocean dive. Ideal if you’re short on time or budget for Open Water, or you want to see how you feel before committing. We provide the equipment. A certified instructor explains, demonstrates and guides you throughout. It also makes a good gift or couple’s outing.
Bring swimming clothes, a towel and sunblock. You must be able to swim.
Who
Cadet from 8 years old. Confined-water and open-water Try Dive from 10 years old. Under 18 needs parent or guardian consent. Before any in-water session: online registration with medical questionnaire, liability release and safe-diving statement.
Why
