We guarantee you that the experience will be unlike anything else you have dived on before. This is the spearhead of J-Bay SCUBA: certified divers, students on course, and visitors who want one or two proper dives with an experienced guide and skipper. Seasonally, we get very busy with many holiday makers joining us for multiple launches and there are also beautiful days during the rest of the year when things calm down a bit.

Group launches

We can take up to six divers plus a skipper. Surf-launches are done from Jeffreys Bay Main Beach, and seasonally out of Port St. Francis. You can bring your own kit; rental and air fills are available if you are traveling light. Days follow the sea — we have an active whatsapp group and when you contact us, we can add you to the group.

Typical group dives are a single launch or a double dive where we load two cylinders per person.

Costs
Single dive R 450 pp
Double dive R350 pp per dive
Full cylinder rental R150
Seperate air fills R 100
Single dive + full kit rental R 900
Double dive + full kit rental R1600.
Loose pieces of equipment R 50 per item

Private charters from R 5000 to R 6500

A dedicated skipper and Instructor guide for one or two people — useful when you are on a short visit, there is no group going out, or you want the day built around you. Two dives, full kit if you need it, and a more unhurried pace. We run the same idea from Jeffreys Bay and from Port St. Francis (often with lunch at the ski-boat club afterwards).

Where we go

Some of the established reefs we dive on are listed under dive sites, but frankly, we have not updated it in a long time and it is a bit of a work in progress. We have dived here for more than a decade and before that, Paul did close to 100 dives here with African Waters SCUBA. Most of our dive site topography includes volcanic rock reef walls with sandy gullies — we regularly spot raggies, rays, yellowbelly rock cod, cuttlefish, nudibranchs etc. Look out for hard corals, soft corals, sponges etc. We keep on discovering new sites and add markers to our library as we go along.
