The Jeffreys Bay Dive forecast is back! Most days look good for diving, except for a few bad days due to big winds or waves.

This is a custom weather model developed specifically for our local dive conditions, based on observations over the last 20 years, and how that translates into dive conditions. We are still refining the model and will update and improve it as we go along. This is to help everybody decide if conditions are going to be favourable to go for a dive, or if it's better to do something else. This is an educated guess, based on the data we have, so don't bet your life on it, but use it as a way to plan your week ahead.

The seasons definately shifted and changed lately with high barometer readings. This means flat water and good visibility. This coming week is going to be a cracker week for diving, especially in the mornings. There is a constant light to medium onshore wind, but in experience we've seen this cleans up the water. If you are keen to dive, please contact us rather earlier than later, so we can plan and schedule around it. We are also busy with courses at the moment.
We havn't done a forecast in a while. Paul was away on an unplanned sailing trip, but otherwise we dived once or twice per week. There was quite a bit of rain, and the ocean had a couple of days to settle down again. Here's the outlook for 24 April to Friday 2 May 2025
It appears there was some extreme temperature fluctuations after the East blew hard, as there are a lot of places where purple seaweed and dead fish washed up on the beach. The water looks very clean at the moment, but I have no idea what current bottom temps will be. Looking at the weekend, Sunday could work. On Saturday the winds are light, but there may be a bit of energy and surge on shallower dives.
After a few days in the Baviaans, we are back and dive conditions are looking good for from Friday onwards. Full forecast below:
Excellent diving conditions prevail. There's a bit of wind on the 8th and 14th which means we may only do a an early single morning dive on those dates, but otherwise pristine diving conditions. (We also do ocean safaris, surf safaris and spearfishing outings.) Full forecast below:
The week is packed with great opportunities to dive! Monday, 16th Dec, offers a good day with light winds, even with slightly larger waves. Tuesday, 17th Dec, and Friday, 20th Dec, remain enjoyable dive days with manageable conditions and some wind. Midweek, conditions improve significantly: Wednesday, 18th Dec, Thursday, 19th Dec, and Saturday, 21st Dec, bring fantastic diving weather with calmer seas, lower wave energy, and light breezes. While Sunday, 22nd Dec, and Monday, 23rd Dec, have a bit more wave energy, they’re still great for diving. Tuesday, 24th Dec, wraps up the week with excellent conditions, light winds, and low wave energy. Full forecast below:
