Grab your swimwear and sunblock (or a wetsuit if it's winter), and prepare to get a fresh perspective on Jeffreys Bay. We will launch through the surf from Jeffreys Bay main beach, and take a trip down to Kabeljouws river mouth while looking out for marine wildlife.
Sometimes we do spot dolphins, whales, penguins, seals, clawless otters and even sharks, but this is entirely dependant on what the wildlife gets up to on the day. We normally work our way back down the coastline, stopping at all the major surf spots Jeffreys Bay is so famous for, providing you with a front row seat on the action. Your host and skipper, Paul van Jaarsveld, who is also a surfer and Sea Rescue volunteer, will teach you the names of all the surf spots and share some interesting stories and information about the area. Alternatively, we can head out into the deep sea, and drive past some "Chokka" fishing vessels. They catch the local Calamari which is one of our region's famous exports.
Experiences can be tailored according to your needs and comfort level and conditions on the day. Our vessel is fast, so it's possible to do some high speed runs, but we can also do a slow cruise.
It is recommended that you drink a motion sickness tablet like Stugaron the night before, and in the morning, if you are prone to getting seasick.
Normally, the trip takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.
