We provide skippers, vessels, lifeguards, lookouts, and in-water safety for events on the sea, rivers, or marinas—including surf contests, swims, film days, boat races, and essentially anything on the water. Paul is a highly experienced, surf-launch skipper who was rescue-trained by the NSRI, where he volunteered for 12 years and gained valuable operational experience in real-world rescues. J-Bay SCUBA has been providing event water safety for almost as long as we have existed as a dive charter, and we have a very specific way of doing things.
Some of our customers include Surfing South Africa, World Surf League, The Greater Garden Route Boating Club, Paramount Skydance (Water safety standby for Tom Cruise sky dives over ocean.), various swimming events and Ironman among things. Paul has also worked as part of the NSRI team on 3 of the PE2EL surfski race events as crew and skipper since 2014.
