We had a dive planned for this morning. The boat was already hitched up and we were going over our pre-launch safety checks when @surfer_dude_for_life brought @paulvanjaarsveld’s phone down from upstairs where it was on charge. There were 6 missed calls.
Turns out a drone had been lost overboard during an early morning shoot, and they were urgently looking for a diver to salvage it so they could recover the footage. Plans changed quickly, and we rerouted our dive to Port St Francis, where we set up a search effort to find the drone.
We’ve been known to salvage watches, cameras, and phones — and now we can add drones to that list. Never a dull moment!
Afterwards, we attempted a shore entry but called it off as the ocean wasn’t playing ball.
