Yesterday was another long day on the water for us. (As always, contact Paul at 083 521 5093 to sign up for courses or book a dive. ) We started off with a 25m dive at Deep End and then after a long surface interval we dropped on a spot we now call Keiths. Warm water temperatures with a minimum of 19°C at the bottom and 21°C at the top. As we descended on the first dive, we were circled by a decent sized bronzie (Bronze Whaler) and when we reached the bottom we experienced a spectacular dive site with wide gullies, excellent visibility and abundant fish life. We had visitors including yellow belly rock cod, some lone Yellow tail, Bonitos, rays and the other usual suspects. As visibility was well over 10m, we could spread out quite comfortably. Dive 2 was very similar, with amazing topography, including overhangs, deep gullies and reef teeming with life. When we hit the beach after the dives, there was a couple on the beach from Pretoria that requested an ocean safari. As soon as we de-kitted everyone, we took the couple for a trip around the bay, visiting one of the fishing vessels and swinging past our major surf spots. Not a bad day in the office! The sun was quite relentless and most of the crew had an extended afternoon nap before prepping equipment for the next day.
