What a blissful Easter weekend so far! Today, on Resurrection Sunday, we’re heading out for a double dive. With some late Easter swell expected, we’re making the most of these pristine conditions before the big waves arrive tonight.
Friday and Saturday brought exciting new discoveries around the old marker called Jagged Edge. We found a beautiful coral bridge large enough for a diver to swim through, along with two small caves housing resident Yellowbelly rock cod!
Both days the ocean was flat as a mirror, with light offshore winds and gentle swells. Water temperatures have warmed nicely, with only a 1°C difference between the surface and the bottom. Visibility has been excellent — once our eyes adjusted, we could see both the surface and the bottom from mid-water. Horizontal visibility reached around 20m!
Our dive times were approximately 43 and 45 minutes, with a maximum depth of 18m.
